Koral

Koral turns your voice into text, anywhere you can type. Here is how to get going, and how to reach me.

Getting started

  1. Add the keyboard: Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards › Add New Keyboard › Koral.
  2. Turn on Allow Full Access for Koral. This is what lets it send your audio to your provider for transcription.
  3. Open Koral and add your Groq API key under Provider. You can create a free key at console.groq.com/keys.
  4. In any app, switch to Koral with the globe key, then tap or hold to talk.

Why does Koral open for a second when I talk?

Apple doesn’t let third-party keyboards use the microphone, only the app can. So when you tap to talk, Koral opens for a second to switch it on, then hands you back where you were.

Why does Koral need Full Access?

Dictation sends your audio to your chosen provider over the network, and iOS only allows that with Full Access on. Koral does not log your keystrokes and has no servers of its own.

Dictation isn't working

  • Make sure your provider key is added and tested under Provider.
  • Check Allow Full Access is on for Koral in Settings.
  • Check microphone permission is granted for Koral in Settings.
  • Confirm you are connected to the internet, which transcription needs.

Pro and purchases

Koral Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks Cleanup (automatic filler removal and grammar tidy-up). You can restore it anytime from About › Restore Purchases.

Privacy

Koral keeps your data yours: no accounts, no servers of ours, your key stays on your device. Full details are on the Privacy page.
